Presenters Needed for the 11th Annual Symposium
New York State Art Teachers Association Region 7
presents the 11th annual Symposium for Art Education
Saturday, April 30, 2016 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM SUNY New Paltz
NYSATA R7 is seeking workshops that connect with the theme for this year’s In-Service Conference: “Transformations: the artist’s role in society”.
Our Keynote Speaker will be Aurora Robson, a multi media artist known predominantly for her work intercepting the waste stream of plastic and paper debris, and transforming landfill into intricate sculptures, installations and collages. In a recent TEDx talk, she asked “…can artists serve a significant role in terms of solving societal and environmental problems?”
Region 7 seeks both lecture/demonstrations and hands-on workshops that explore the transformative role of the artist and the art teacher in our culture. Workshop submissions will be selected based on relevance to the theme and quality of the proposal. Please consider sharing your talents, expertise, and ideas in the field of art education.
Complete this online form by February 15th.
Admission fee & lunch will be complimentary for all presenters. All proposals will be reviewed and you will be notified by the end of February
